An Artful Wedding in Mexico
design notes
An immersive art installation in the jungle
Lauren and Evan see Mayakoba differently than most people. Sure, it's on the beach, but what draws them in are the lagoons threading through jungle, the cenotes, the wildlife that call it home. The natural landscape is so layered and beautiful it reminds them of impressionistic art — all that light filtering through canopy, water reflecting everything around it. When they decided to get married there, the concept was simple: create a living art installation that lets their guests experience what they see in this place. Not different for the sake of being different, but authentically them.

The Ceremony
The build-up to the ceremony was palpable. An artful invitation and welcome events set the expectation for an immersive experience. Literally. Guests entered the ceremony through an opening in the palms to a lush and vibrant jungle setting that mimicked the bride’s colorful couture.

The cocktail party
A saxophonist's melody drew guests from jungle to lagoon for cocktails at golden hour. The perfect palette cleanser for what was to come.

THE reception
At dusk, guests crossed a lantern-lit bridge into something that felt like stepping inside a Monet. Layers of dripping greenery, art, and music created this dreamlike atmosphere. Original artwork became table linens and menus. A hand-painted dance floor beneath a canopy of trees drew everyone into celebration.

THE after party
Late night, the mood shifted to something so them — an acoustic red-lit lounge that carried guests into the morning to savor the end of a great weekend together.

Immersive experiences taking guests on YOUR journey are where the magic happens. That feeling can’t be imitated or manufactured. It’s where thoughtfulness meets authenticity.
